Interview Questions You May Be Asked

A new survey revealed that the first most common mistakes committed by job applicants are during the interview stage of the hiring process while the second most committed mistake is on errors found in resume. Experts strongly agreed that preparation makes the difference between success and failure in job seeking.

Nowadays, it is very easy to research on the employers, so that is no excuse why you cannot research and prepare mentally before an actual interview. Before the actual appointment, you should look at the company's website to learn about them.

For every job interview you go through, there is no doubts there are numerous interview questions the interviewer will ask before he finish it off the interview. The interviewer tends to ask standard questions and as long as you prepared for it, you should have no problem dealing with it.

Before you attend the interview, you should find out how to response promptly to some of the common interview questions. Depending on whether the interview is formal or casual, the interview questions may be phrased differently but the questions asked is similar to the standard questions asked by most interviewers.

Remember that no two interviewers conduct interviews similarly or asked the same questions. Each interview will varies but as long as you prepare yourself, you shouldn't be afraid.

However preparing yourself does not mean you only focus on those interview questions but you should also prepare yourself by showing up early on the actual interview, brings along extra copies of your resume and references and showing enthusiasm for the job.

It is good that you role play with a mentor or peer before the actual interview to helps prepare yourself while gains more confidence. There are hundreds of standard interview questions and these are just a few commonly asked interview questions. 

Tell me about you. Describe your personality. Why should I hire you? Why would you like to be doing in five years? How to plan to achieve your career goals? Why did you choose this field of work? Why are you qualified for this position? Why would you like to work here? What is your greatest strengths and weaknesses? 

Here are some of the behavioral-based interview questions. Describe to me a situation whereby you use persuasion to successfully convince someone to see things your way. Describe a time when you are stress out due to a difficult situation and you demonstrate your coping skills. 

Give me a specific example of a time when you used personal judgment and logic in solving a difficult problem. Give me an example of a time when you set a goal and then being able to achieve and meet it before a deadline. 

Give me an example when you had use your good presentation skills to influence other's opinion. The last thing before the interview is over, you should prepare yourself a list of 10 questions which you can ask the interviewer about like the company, the job you are applying for, what product or services are they selling, the potential for growth, etc.
